Created in 2009 from a very personal story, Mapis Project (Making A Positive Impact Socially) has grown into an effective social enterprise dedicated to the support, personal development and training of disadvantaged and vulnerable young people and adults. The enterprise cultivates each individual’s personal and employment related skills by using fashion, beauty, retail and events. Their range of programmes include accredited qualifications in retail, fashion & clothing, hair & beauty, and events planning. They accept young people and adults from all walks of life in order to help reach their full employability and career potentials.
Mapis Project’s reputation as a dynamic workforce development partner has grown substantially with its employers over the years and continues to grow with each successful project and partnership.
Specifically, Mapis Project assists Young People and Adults at Risk as they face transition points in their lives. Through fashion, beauty, design and arts, we provide the opportunities to raise confidence, self-belief and communication skill. Their programmes aim to achieve the outcomes outlined by “Every Child Matters” – health, continued safety, enjoyment and attainment, be placed to make a positive contribution, and achievement of economic well-being.
